Windows Error 1079 Problem Fix

In middle of the Windows Updates process or starting a service, error 1079 may appear. If you get this error, try these solutions:

1. Remove the Proxy Settings and Start the Service
2. Repair the Registry
3. Start the Service with Different Mode
4. Restore your System
5. Uninstall and Reinstall the Program causing Error 1079

Remove the Proxy Settings and then Start the Service

Problems with the proxy settings may cause Windows error 1079. Remove the settings and configure them properly as shown below:

1. Click Start.
2. Type CMD in the Search box.
3. Right click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator option.
4. Type the following command to delete the existing proxy settings and then close Command Prompt:
Proxycfg -d
Exit
5. Click Start.
6. Type Services and press ENTER.
7. Right click the service showing Windows error 1079 and select Start option.

Repair the Registry

Registry problems result in various errors with your computer such as Windows error 1079. You have to scan and repair such registry problems using an external Registry Cleaner and PC Optimizer program.

Start the Service with Different Mode

Changing the log in type of the service to start it with different mode may fix Windows error 1079. Here are the steps for doing so:

1. Click Start.
2. Type Services in the Search box.
3. Press ENTER.
4. Right click the service showing the specified error.
5. Select Properties option.
6. Click Log On tab.
7. Enter the following value in This Account box:
NT AUTHORITYLocalService
8. Click Apply | OK.
9. Restart the computer for the changes to take effects.

Restore the System

The System Restore lets you rollback the changes you have made with your system. It may fix the Windows error 1079. Restore the system as shown below:

1. Click Start.
2. Type System Restore and press ENTER.
3. Follow the wizard you see on your screen.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Programs causing Error 1079

You can remove and reinstall the programs causing Windows error 1079. Do below steps:

1. Click Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Click Programs | Uninstall a Program.
4. Select the program causing error 1079.
5. Click Uninstall button.
6. Follow the wizard you see on the screen.
7. Restart your machine when it is completed.
